What you shoud know when coming to Israel

Must have: Israel is a warm mediterranean country, part of it is desert in the south. When israelis go out for a trip the common package is: water, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes and clothes covering your shoulders and below the knee for holy places. Winter can be rainy and chilli the evening especially in high places like Jerusalem.

Safety: is my highest priority. As google defines it "Israel is considered as a statistically safe country", people are generally welcomimg, we are not entering any sensitive zone such as Gaza and the Palestinian West Bank. I keep updated  all the time about the situation or any event. Like for any other destination you sould keep your insurances valid for the trip.

Language: Hebrew is the official language, arabic too because of the 2 millions arabs living in Israel, but most of israelis do speak english, especially in touristic environment.

Currency: is the shekel, today 1 shekel = $ 3.25 ' the rate is subject to fluctuations so check before you come. A cup of coffe would cost 11 to 13 shekel, street food like a falafel is 25 shekel while a kebab meat in a pita bread is 50 shekel. A meal in a restaurant is around $30 and . Entrance fee in national park is 45 shekel for adults and 25 for children. A taxi from the airport to TLV vary from 130 to 220 shekel depending on the time of the day.

Internet: Whatsapp is common practice, usually tourist have their own package by their provider at home. Hotels provide access to internet and cities free access in Wifi hotspots.

Electrical Standard: is 220 Volts with Type C and Type H socket, so US travellers or from any other country that have different standard will need relevant adapters and converters.

Food: almost every kind from almost anywhere.. but basically med and middle east dishes like Hummus, salads, grilled meat and falafel and of course common western food. Tap water is safe for drinking.

Visa: please check in advance the policy concerning  your country.
